FAQ

Where can I fill my WaterPress?
The WaterPress is designed to be used with TAP WATER ONLY. We do not recommend using potentially harmful water sources in your WaterPress.

Are WaterPress bottles BPA free?
Yes.

What is the WaterPress bottle made of?
The WaterPress bottle is stainless steel. The press, reservoir and mouthpiece are ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) 433, a high-impact high-gloss plastic that is FDA approved food-grade. The seals and vent hole plug are made of Santoprene 55, a soft thermoplastic vulcanizate of food-grade quality. The filter is made of extruded carbon, which consists of virgin activated carbon powder and a thermoplastic binder. Highly porous, the filters are extremely uniform to provide high performance adsorption and particle removal while maintaining a low flow resistance.

What are the advantages of the WaterPress filtration system?
WaterPress gives you the opportunity to get the filtered water you desire without the cost and waste of plastic bottles. WaterPress portable filtration system provides filtered water faster and more conveniently than with a typical household pitcher. Our replacement filters are less expensive than those typically available for filter pitchers, while it remains of comparable quality and capacity.
Is this a Canadian company?

Our WaterPress team is based in Canada with minimal manufacturing done internationally. Assembly and packaging are done in Canada.

Where are the WaterPress bottles made?
The ABS components are manufactured in Toronto, CA. The stainless steel bottles are manufactured in China. The extruded carbon filters are manufactured in the USA. Assembly of the WaterPress bottles is done in Canada.

How much water can it hold?
The WaterPress bottle holds 475 mL of water.

Can I use liquids other than water?
We do not recommend filtering any liquids other than tap-water through the WaterPress.

How do I wash WaterPress?
The entire WaterPress portable filtration system is dishwasher safe. Remove the plastic filter system from the steel bottle, and separate press from reservoir before putting all parts in the machine. While the extruded carbon filter is dishwasher safe repeated washings can shorten the overall life of the filter. See ‘when should I replace my filter?’ for more information.

Should I wash the system before using it?
Yes, we recommend washing all components of the WaterPress bottle before using it for the first time.

When should I replace the filter?
Over time and with repeated use the extruded carbon filter will collect sediment. Washing the filter in the dishwasher will reduce the amount of sedimentary build-up; however it will shorten the overall life of your filter. We recommend washing your filter only when there is an uncomfortable amount of pressure required to press water through the system, indicating a substantial amount of sediment in the filter. Avoid unnecessary washing of the extruded carbon filter and replace once every four months for optimal performance.

Can I get replacement parts?
The only replacement product currently available is the extruded carbon filter. Filters are sold through our website individually or as packs of three. Check out our ‘Buy Online’ section to learn more.

Where can I purchase a WaterPress bottle?
For the time being WaterPress is only available for purchase online through our website. We will post a list of distributors and where to find them once WaterPress becomes available at stores.
